Trekathon Season Review: Lower Decks Season 3

Star Trek’s 42nd season wraps up. Spoilers.

I’m writing this a fair while after the end of the season (holidays having gotten in the way), and I found myself at a loss to say much. There was some incredible stuff this year, like “A Mathematically Perfect Redemption”, and then there was a lot of weaker stuff like “Crisi Point 2”. The only character who really changed was Mariner, and that only a little. Rutherford gets a big plot arc, but it doesn’t change very much and really only provides a bit of background for the season finale.

It was great to go back to Deep Space 9, and that episode was nearly perfectly done.

This is still a very enjoyable show, and it’s hard to find much overall difference between it and Season 2. I’ll give this season the very slight edge, only because o Peanutbutter.

That brings the rankings to:

The very best of Trek:

  • SNW Season 1
  • PIC Season 1
  • TNG Season 6
  • DS9 Season 2
  • PIC Season 2

Strong performers:

  • LD Season 1
  • DS9 Season 5
  • TNG Season 3
  • TNG Season 5
  • TOS Season 2
  • DIS Season 2
  • ENT Season 3
  • TNG Season 4
  • VOY Season 4

Mixed bag:

  • TOS Season 1
  • DS9 Season 4
  • LD Season 3
  • LD Season 2
  • DIS Season 1
  • ST Season 2
  • DS9 Season 1
  • ENT Season 4
  • DIS Season 3
  • ST Season 1
  • VOY Season 5
  • ENT Season 1
  • VOY Season 1
  • TNG Season 7

Not good:

  • DS9 Season 3
  • DS9 Season 6
  • DIS Season 4
  • VOY Season 6
  • VOY Season 3
  • TNG Season 2
  • ENT Season 2
  • TAS Season 1

Really just awful:

  • VOY Season 7
  • VOY Season 2
  • DS9 Season 7
  • TOS Season 3
  • TAS Season 2
  • TNG Season 1

Now for some Prodigy, a quick break (which I’m currently using to catch up)and then the final season of Picard.
