So, where were the Borg children while all of this was happening? Apparently all they saw was a single section being closed to access. They didn’t notice the ship-wide emergency, power outages, significant numbers of casualties, and the presence of nebula gas across the ship? Not exactly great observation skills…
Other than the stupid framing story (something I’ve complained about a few times now), it’s a reasonable horror story. Communicating through the computer only was a nice touch, one which managed to maintain the mystery/menace of the alien, something that most episodes in this genre fail to manage.
