The nice change of pace here was that they avoided the society having some ‘dark secret’ or any other motivation that would make people feel better about destroying the situation.
But the only representative we have for the ‘eugenics are creepy’ view is Picard – without any backup, it’s just one person’s view. You could’ve mentioned, just as a random example, the eugenics wars…
