The crew has to shelter in the nacelles during a storm.
This looked interesting to start with – let’s just throw the crew together in close quarters for a week, and see what happens. But the writers lose confidence in their own idea about two thirds of the way through, and we go for a more conventional ‘take back the ship’ action sequence.
Still, some elements work well. The reveal of the aliens on board the ship is handled well. And the deserters are thankfully not given the opportunity to be anything more than a plot point.
Callbacks: Tucker playing poker, the Kahs-Wan ritual from Yesteryear (the first 100 per cent sure reference to the Animated Series in all of Trek, I think).
676 down, 61 to go.
