Janeway gets caught in a time loop. Or catches the Phage. Or dies and haunts Voyager. Or is possessed by an alien. I’m not really sure to be honest.
I’m going to be charitable here, because Voyager finally tried something a little bit ambitious. OK, it’s a bit unsure of itself, and probably got a little bit too complicated for its own good. But there’s a nice sense of developing mystery, and some interesting character stuff as Janeway comes to terms (or not) with whatever it is that’s happening to her.
(If I was being less charitable, I would complain that this ended up being little more than ripoffs of 3 or 4 good TNG episodes).
