Trekathon 264: Lessons (TNG)

Jean-Luc and Nella, sitting in a Jeffries Tube, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.

It’s an unusually quiet, character centred story – unusual but welcome. It’s a nice change of pace, and a good opportunity to provide more depth to Picard’s character. It’s also nice to have a sequel to *The Inner Light*, an excellent episode that should have some impact on Picard’s life. The relationship that develops feels quite real, and the resolution is also realistic in the difficulties that this kind of relationship faces.

However, one thing that bugged me. There are *no* Starfleet regulations about a captain becoming involved with a fellow officer? In his own chain of command? That’s not science fiction, that’s fantasy.

Great Star Trek moment: the first on-screen appearance of Stellar Cartography.

264 down, 473 to go.
