So far I’ve had at least some memory of the episodes I’ve seen. Only in a few cases has the episode been completely new to me, and most of those have been fairly mediocre.
But this episode was new to me, and really clicked with me. I’d probably rate this one of the five or six best episodes so far. The basic concept, of an ‘accelerated’ race taking over the Enterprise is promising. Kirk then does quite a lot with it, but the wistful longing of the female lead is probably the essential ingredient that made me enjoy this episode.
There were a few plot holes (particularly with regards to mismatches between the two ‘time streams’), but I found the episode itself enjoyable enough that none of them really bothered me.
